About Us

LowCostRoutes.com was built from scratch by Lucian Preda, in November 2007. He had recently moved to Milan, a metropolis with 3 airports, and was planning to explore Europe as much as he could, on a small budget. While searching for flights and travel destinations, he noticed that it was very hard and time consuming to find out which are all the destination one could fly to, from his area. So he created a small project, aiming to list all the destinations one could reach using low cost airlines and all airlines that flown directly on each of the routes. This way, the LowCostRoutes.com was born, to fill a gap in the travel industry!

While the website's popularity continued growing, we continued improving the search engine and developed new tools, helping travellers save a lot of time. Despite this growth, we remain an independent site, without external investors, owned and managed by the same persons who try to answer all your questions and take very serious all your feedback, so don't hesitate to contact us for any issue.

Our Main Tools

The search engine shows all the airlines and flights that we were able to discover and index. We regularly crawl the airlines' websites, in order to keep the database up-to date and to show you only the relevant info.

The Flight Alert is a service designed with a very clear purpose: to alert the travellers when an airline releases a flight for a certain date. This way, the Flight Alert subscribers are always amongst the first to check and book a ticket on their desired flight, often taking advantage of the lowest price. It was designed for Easyjet flights, but other airlines joined soon.

The Cities and Airports section was created to help travellers identify the airports that are the closest to their destination city. This way it is easier to find all the flights amongst which you can choose.

Our international presence

LowCostRoutes.com has a worldwide coverage, indexing all the low cost airlines. Since it is useful to travellers from any country, many friends and site users volunteered to translate it into their native languages. This way, our website is currently available in 11 languages, listed below. If your native language is not amongst them and you would love translating it, please contact us and we would be more then happy to teach you how to do it.

Our local presence

Following some users requests, we also created a few lightweight versions of LowCostRoutes.com, dedicated to specific countries and showing only the flights that are interesting for that country. These small websites are highly customised for each country and are useful especially if you want to see all the flights from your nearest airport, at a glance. Here is the list:
